By accessing or using the BEACONSAFE platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this platform.
Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Any activities that occur under your account are your responsibility.
Accurate Information
All reports and information submitted must be truthful, accurate, and complete to the best of your knowledge. False or misleading reports may result in account suspension or legal action.
Lawful Use
You agree to use BEACONSAFE only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not use the platform in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
Respectful Conduct
Maintain respectful communication with other users, verifiers, and administrators. Harassment, hate speech, or abusive behavior will not be tolerated.
- Submitting false, fraudulent, or misleading reports
- Attempting to manipulate the verification system or token rewards
- Accessing or attempting to access other users' accounts
- Uploading malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
- Interfering with the platform's security features or blockchain operations
- Using automated systems (bots) to submit reports or interact with the platform
- Sharing confidential information about pending investigations
- Impersonating other users, organizations, or verifiers
- Selling, transferring, or trading accounts
- Using the platform for commercial solicitation without authorization
Platform Content
The BEACONSAFE platform, including its design, code, logos, and documentation, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. All rights are reserved.
User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of the content you submit (reports, evidence, comments). However, by submitting content, you grant BEACONSAFE a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute your content for platform operations and environmental protection purposes.
Blockchain Records
Reports stored on the blockchain become immutable public records. While personal identifying information is protected, verified report data becomes part of the permanent environmental record.
The BEACONSAFE platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The platform will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- The results obtained from using the platform will be accurate or reliable
- The quality of any reports, services, or information will meet your expectations
- Any errors in the platform will be corrected
You acknowledge that blockchain transactions are irreversible and that we are not responsible for any loss of tokens or coins due to user error.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BEACONSAFE and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and partners shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill
- Any damages resulting from your use or inability to use the platform
- Any damages resulting from unauthorized access to your account or content
- Any damages resulting from actions taken by environmental authorities based on reports
Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to BEACONSAFE in the six months prior to the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
By You
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support. Upon termination, your personal data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy, but verified reports on the blockchain remain permanent.
By BEACONSAFE
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent, harmful, or illegal activities. This includes:
- Multiple false reports
- Attempts to manipulate the system
- Harassment or abusive behavior
- Security violations
- Legal violations or investigations
Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your access to the platform will cease immediately. Any unused tokens or coins may be forfeited. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.
BEACONSAFE Tokens
Tokens are earned for submitting verified reports and contributing to the platform. Tokens have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed for cash. The exchange rate between tokens and coins is subject to change.
BEACONSAFE Coins
Coins are blockchain-based digital assets that can be used within the BEACONSAFE ecosystem. Coins are subject to blockchain network fees and transaction times. We are not responsible for blockchain network issues.
No Guarantee of Rewards
Rewards are distributed based on report verification and quality. We reserve the right to modify the reward structure, suspend rewards, or withhold rewards if fraudulent activity is suspected.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the platform. Your continued use of BEACONSAFE after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
We will notify users of significant changes via email or platform notification. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where BEACONSAFE is registered, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of BEACONSAFE shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law. You waive your right to participate in class action lawsuits.
Informal Resolution
Before initiating formal dispute resolution, parties agree to attempt informal resolution by contacting support@beaconsafe.org with a detailed description of the dispute. We will attempt to resolve disputes within 30 days.
